๐Ÿ“ƒSummary

Our engineering scenario was to design durable wind turbines that can generate excessive amounts of electrical power to power the city of Kingston, Ontario. We are tasked to design a turbine blade that maximizes the space on Wolfe Island and that also minimizes inertia to maximize power output by allowing for the blades to accelerate faster. The blade must also align with two high-level objectives. Primarily, we must minimize the mass of the blade as our design must minimize inertia. Decreasing the mass allows for less force to be required to rotate the blade and more energy to be extracted. Secondarily, the cost of the turbine blade must be minimized. The turbine system must be accessible and affordable across the city of Kingston. It should not be limited to the wealthier population.
